I'm Lucy, an Illustrator & Product Designer based in Sewickley, PA

The Artist

I started Boundary & Thorn as a small side project in 2016 while working as a full-time designer. I missed creating work for myself, so I threw myself into a collection of art that spoke to my authentic self—work I could truly feel proud of. It just so happened that other people liked that work, too! They wanted to buy it, frame it, and hang it in their homes.

Now, nearly a decade later—and with a lot of support from some very special people—I am still at it. Today, I live in the Pittsburgh area with my family. When I'm not drawing, I’m likely reading a David Sedaris book, organizing anything I can get my hands on, or taking a walk with my dog, Sushi.

Boundary & Thorn celebrates the simple joys of life with art prints and greeting cards centered on food, drinks, nature, and positivity. Every piece is hand-illustrated by Lucy, a BFA-trained illustrator with an eye for technical precision and "crisp simplicity." To ensure the highest quality, our products are printed in small batches with love and care by a trusted local vendor.
